Name: Raechel Burns or Rae 🙂

I started my “art” journey when I was quite young but it began in drawing as I’m sure it does everyone. I worked with graphite (lead pencil) from the time I was 8-10 years old drawing portraits and cartoons. I did get really quite good at a young age but soon lost interest and didn’t feel myself advancing once I was around 16 or so. I think life got in the way and I began drawing less and less. I still tried to pop a portrait out every few months just to remind myself of my age-old hobby, and who I once was.
It wasn’t until 2016 when I discovered watercolour and watercolour pencils that the inner artist began to re-spark and I began a new journey including colour which I had always been a bit afraid of!!
I now paint in gouache (which unlike watercolour is opaque). I was introduced to gouache via a Denmark artist friend named Sofie Rimmer.
